FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I walk my dog in the morning before work, but don't get home until late in the evening. Would you be able to just come over and take my dog out to potty in the afternoon?
Absolutely! Our Pawp-in Visits are perfect for pets that need a little extra attention during the day. Each visit includes a brief wellness check, a potty break with waste clean-up, and one-on-one time or exercise (Leashed Walk, Playtime, etc.) with the time remaining (depending on your pet’s needs and preferences).
WHAT TYPES OF TREATS DO YOU USE? HOW OFTEN WILL YOU BE TREATING MY PET? I DON'T WANT THEM TO GET UPSET TUMMIES...
We've found that treating our furry friends during visits helps them quickly come to associate us with something positive, for hanging out with someone new can sometimes feel a bit strange. We also like to use treats to reward and reinforce good behavior, like your dog sitting at the door while waiting to be leashed or your cat or critter politely approaching us.

For critters, we typically use the treats you have in-home, following your instructions. If we have any treats on-hand, that are species-appropriate, we would discuss and approve the treat-type and treating instructions prior to administration.
During your consultation, we'll discuss your pet's existing food allergies or sensitivities, confirm whether or not they can have our treats and discuss your preferred treating guidelines. We know that sometimes pets can have particularly sensitive tummies, especially if they've been feeling under the weather. Please let us know if there are ever any adjustments you'd like us to make in regards to your pet's treating guidelines.
FOR YOUR PAWDICURES, IS THE TRIMMING PERFORMED IN YOUR HOME OR MY HOME?
Great question! For our in-home grooming services, we perform everything from the comfort of your own home. So, no there’s no traveling for you and reduced stress for your pet. We like to use little to no restraint, utilizing low-stress handling techniques and food-based rewards, ensuring a positive experience for your pet. We offer flexible pricing and provide the option of charging by paw, so if your pet becomes too overstimulated, we can always come back another day.
We do require your assistance during trimming, as it provides additional comfort for your pet and support with holding your pet, if needed. A consultation is required prior to service, but we should be able to trim your pet’s nails same-day, depending on their comfort level.
MY PET IS DIABETIC AND REQUIRES INSULIN INJECTIONS. DO YOU PROVIDE PET SITTING SERVICES FOR DIABETIC PETS?
Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to administer injectable medications and subcutaneous fluids to pets under our care. However, we hope this is a service we are able to provide in the future. We'd be more than happy to provide care for your pet, so long as they do not require injectable medications or subcutaneous fluids at that time of their services. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding!
Do you require any vaccines?
Choosing to vaccinate your pet is an extremely personal choice that carries both risk and benefit. Every pet is an individual that has a unique lifestyle, state of health and holds varying risk of exposure.
We recommend that pets receive the following vaccinations (supported by the ASPCA):
Rabies // Distemper // Canine Parvovirus // Canine Hepatitis.
Non-core vaccines are given depending on the dog’s exposure risk. These include vaccines against Bordetella bronchiseptica, Borrelia burgdorferi and Leptospira bacteria. Your veterinarian can determine what vaccines are best for your pet.
Rabies // Feline Distemper (Panleukopenia) // Feline Calicivirus // Feline Herpesvirus Type I (Rhinotracheitis)
Non-core vaccines are given depending on the cat's lifestyle; these include vaccines for feline leukemia virus, Bordetella, Chlamydophila felis, and feline immunodeficiency virus. Your veterinarian can determine what vaccines are best for your pet.
We require that pets hold a current Rabies vaccine at the time of scheduled services. We will be unable to perform services to animals whose Rabies vaccine has expired.
An animal may be considered exempt from the Rabies vaccine, in the event that a licensed veterinarian has examined the animal and deemed that the vaccine jeopardizes said animal's health due to age, disease, illness, or other medical conditions. A Letter of Exemption is mandatory and must meet the following requirements:
Be in the form of a written statement.
Be signed by a licensed veterinarian.
Include a description of the pet and medical reasoning for exemption. If the medical reason is temporary, the letter must indicate exemption’s time of expiration.
