FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I walk my dog in the morning before work, but don't get home until late in the evening. Would you be able to just come over and take my dog out to potty in the afternoon?

Absolutely! Our Pawp-in Visits are perfect for pets that need a little extra attention during the day. Each visit includes a brief wellness check, a potty break with waste clean-up, and one-on-one time or exercise (Leashed Walk, Playtime, etc.) with the time remaining (depending on your pet’s needs and preferences).

WHAT TYPES OF TREATS DO YOU USE? HOW OFTEN WILL YOU BE TREATING MY PET? I DON'T WANT THEM TO GET UPSET TUMMIES...

We've found that treating our furry friends during visits helps them quickly come to associate us with something positive, for hanging out with someone new can sometimes feel a bit strange. We also like to use treats to reward and reinforce good behavior, like your dog sitting at the door while waiting to be leashed or your cat or critter politely approaching us.

For dogs, we typically use the following types of treats:

Dry Food

  • Farmina Natural & Delicious Grain-Free Dry Dog Food (Flavors: Various proteins)

  • Halo Adult Dry Dog Food (Flavors: Various proteins)

  • Lotus Grain-Free Dry Dog Food (Flavors: Various proteins)

  • Zignature Limited Ingredient Formula Grain-Free Dry Dog Food (Flavors: Various proteins)

Crunchy Treats

  • Fruitables Crunchy Dog Treats (Flavors: Pumpkin & Blueberry Flavor, Pumpkin & Apple Flavor, Pumpkin & Banana Flavor, Pumpkin & Cranberry Flavor, Crispy Bacon & Apple Flavor)

  • Cloud Star Crunchy Tricky Trainers Dog Treats (Flavors: Liver Flavor, Salmon Flavor, Cheddar Flavor)

  • Stewart Pro-Treat Liver Freeze-Dried Dog Treats (Flavors: Turkey, Bison, Duck, Chicken, Beef)

  • Stewart Pro-Treat Chicken Breast Freeze-Dried Dog Treats

Soft Treats

  • Zuke's Mini Naturals Dog Treats (Flavors: Chicken Recipe, Rabbit Recipe, Duck Recipe, Peanut Butter & Oats Recipe)

  • Zuke's Tiny Naturals Dog Treats (Flavors: Chicken & Chickpea Recipe, Duck & Chickpea Recipe, Peanut Butter & Flaxseed Recipe)

  • Triumph Grain-Free Jerky Bites (Flavors: Salmon and Sweet Potato, Turkey and Pea and Berry, Lamb and Sweet Potato and Butternut Squash, Duck and Pea and Blueberry)

High-value Treats (used only when appropriate [fed as tiny pieces or slow-fed] - for dogs that are a bit shy, nervous, or fearful)

  • Cocktail Sausages (Flavors: Beef, Pork)

  • Liverwurst

  • String Cheese (Flavors: Mozzarella)

  • Easy Cheese (Flavors: Cheddar, American)

  • Peanut Butter (Xylitol-free)

  • KONG Stuff'N Easy Treat (Flavors: Peanut Butter, Bacon & Cheese, Pepperoni, Liver)

For cats, we typically use the following types of treats:

Crunchy Treats

  • Greenies Feline Dental Cat Treats (Flavors: Oven Roasted Chicken Flavor, Savory Salmon Flavor, Catnip Flavor, Ocean Fish Flavor, Succulent Beef Flavor, Tempting Tuna Flavor,

  • Primal Liver Munchies Freeze-Dried Dog & Cat Treats (Flavors: Turkey, Beef, Pork)

Soft Treats

  • Greenies Pill Pockets Feline Cat Treats (Flavors: Chicken Flavor, Salmon Flavor)

  • Primal Nibs Jerky Dog & Cat Treats (Flavors: Turkey, Beef, Pork, Organic Chicken)

For critters, we typically use the treats you have in-home, following your instructions. If we have any treats on-hand, that are species-appropriate, we would discuss and approve the treat-type and treating instructions prior to administration.

During your consultation, we'll discuss your pet's existing food allergies or sensitivities, confirm whether or not they can have our treats and discuss your preferred treating guidelines. We know that sometimes pets can have particularly sensitive tummies, especially if they've been feeling under the weather. Please let us know if there are ever any adjustments you'd like us to make in regards to your pet's treating guidelines.

FOR YOUR PAWDICURES, IS THE TRIMMING PERFORMED IN YOUR HOME OR MY HOME?

Great question! For our in-home grooming services, we perform everything from the comfort of your own home. So, no there’s no traveling for you and reduced stress for your pet. We like to use little to no restraint, utilizing low-stress handling techniques and food-based rewards, ensuring a positive experience for your pet. We offer flexible pricing and provide the option of charging by paw, so if your pet becomes too overstimulated, we can always come back another day.

We do require your assistance during trimming, as it provides additional comfort for your pet and support with holding your pet, if needed. A consultation is required prior to service, but we should be able to trim your pet’s nails same-day, depending on their comfort level.

MY PET IS DIABETIC AND REQUIRES INSULIN INJECTIONS. DO YOU PROVIDE PET SITTING SERVICES FOR DIABETIC PETS?

Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to administer injectable medications and subcutaneous fluids to pets under our care. However, we hope this is a service we are able to provide in the future. We'd be more than happy to provide care for your pet, so long as they do not require injectable medications or subcutaneous fluids at that time of their services. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding!

Do you require any vaccines?

Choosing to vaccinate your pet is an extremely personal choice that carries both risk and benefit. Every pet is an individual that has a unique lifestyle, state of health and holds varying risk of exposure.

We recommend that pets receive the following vaccinations (supported by the ASPCA):

Dogs:

Rabies // Distemper // Canine Parvovirus // Canine Hepatitis.

Non-core vaccines are given depending on the dog’s exposure risk. These include vaccines against Bordetella bronchiseptica, Borrelia burgdorferi and Leptospira bacteria. Your veterinarian can determine what vaccines are best for your pet.

Cats:

Rabies // Feline Distemper (Panleukopenia) // Feline Calicivirus // Feline Herpesvirus Type I (Rhinotracheitis)

Non-core vaccines are given depending on the cat's lifestyle; these include vaccines for feline leukemia virus, Bordetella, Chlamydophila felis, and feline immunodeficiency virus. Your veterinarian can determine what vaccines are best for your pet.

We require that pets hold a current Rabies vaccine at the time of scheduled services. We will be unable to perform services to animals whose Rabies vaccine has expired.

An animal may be considered exempt from the Rabies vaccine, in the event that a licensed veterinarian has examined the animal and deemed that the vaccine jeopardizes said animal's health due to age, disease, illness, or other medical conditions. A Letter of Exemption is mandatory and must meet the following requirements:

  • Be in the form of a written statement.

  • Be signed by a licensed veterinarian.

  • Include a description of the pet and medical reasoning for exemption. If the medical reason is temporary, the letter must indicate exemption’s time of expiration.

I LIVE OUTSIDE OF EDEN PRAIRIE AND BLOOMINGTON. DO YOU OFFER SERVICES TO SURROUNDING AREAS?

Unfortunately, at this time, we are no longer accepting new clients outside of Eden Prairie and Bloomington. However, we hope to be able to expand our service area in the future.

YARD CLEAN-UP
Don't have time to clean-up after your pup potties? We've got you covered. We'll visit your home, clean-up the pet waste in your yard, deposit waste double-bagged into your garbage or ensure proper off-site disposal, and carefully check for proper closure of the gate or door in which we entered.

+ ADD ON OPTION   DEODORIZING TREATMENT
We use a non-toxic and natural deodorizing treatment, in the form of a spray, that reduces the solid waste that has been left behind.  BiOWISH Aqua FOG continues to clean-up your yard even after we're gone. Primarily used in commercial farming wastewater ponds and wastewater treatment facilities, BiOWISH uses live microbial cultures to generate the required enzyme chemistry to degrade fats, oils, and grease. While chemical deodorizers disinfect the solid waste left behind, BiOWISH's enzymes continue to eat-away the waste until completely dissolved. Applied at 5 grams/gallon solution to water ratio, we spray the treatment onto the affected areas of your yard and let BiOWISH Aqua FOG do the rest. Read more about BiOWISH Aqua FOG.
